Hello All!
So previously, I had posted a link for the Friends of Iowa Midwives show, which actually ended up being a link for the show with FAWN and the UI Anti-War group Umm...embarrassing). However, I have corrected that error andI also wanted to provide the links here for the three shows that were successfully recorded:

I am currently working on trying to get the Domestic Violence Intervention Program and the Women's Resource Action Center on next Wednesday to talk about their project, the Men's Anti-Violence Council. Even if I can't get them on next week, please take a moment to check out their sites and see what they are up to.
Have a great week!

Hello All-
Wednesday, we will be chatting with Kyle Sieck and company from the UI Environmental Coalition. This group came on as my first guest at the beginning of the semester. It was a great show, but it was also the same day of a huge snow storm, and I don't know how many listeners were able to receive the show as the KRUI antennae tends to freeze up on those occasions and limits our broadcasting ability. And what's more, environmental issues are a major concern to anyone who's been paying attention to the ever-worsening condition of our planet; ideas on how to make a real change are more important than ever.
We will be covering the following topics (and more!):
And FINALLY- an mp3 of one of the shows! I thought I would never see the day...
The interview with Friends of Iowa Midwives was amazing and a true joy to do. I hope you check it out if you weren't able to hear it the first time. As the file is to big to be uploaded directly onto Vox.com, you can click here to download it and listen to it for free. Just click where it says "Click here to start download..." You *don't* have to sign up for an account to do this.

This week I will be interviewing Monica Brasile, Kristin Bergman and Kathy Deol from Friends of Iowa Midwives. This weeks show will be starting about 15 minutes late, as KRUI is interviewing a band member from These United States.
Friends of Iowa Midwives is an organization that describes itself as " a grassroots organization working to promote access to midwifery and out-of-hospital birth in Iowa, protect the rights of Iowa women to choose their place of birth and birth attendant, provide education about childbirth options, and create supportive community for birthing women and families." This promises to be an very interesting and informative show on a local issue that too many people know little or nothing about.
Below is a short documentary style video that explores some of the issues that we will be discussing this Wednesday. Monica Brasile is also featured in this video which was co-created by yours truly.
Hello all~
So the show with Brianna and Keith from Invisible Children in Iowa City went well. I felt a bit awkward at moments as it was such new information to me, but that is one of the reasons why I do this show- so that I become more aware and educated about what is going on in our world while helping promote the causes discussed.
Unfortunately, I had some technical
difficulties in trying to record the show- using a different software program.
So sadly, once again, I don't have an mp3 to share with those who were not able
to hear the show. My apologies- me and buttons, not always on the best terms.
I don't have anyone scheduled for this Wednesday as of yet; maybe that will
change before next week starts.
Other than that, I do have two groups scheduled for after Spring Break. On Wed, the 26th we have the UI Farm Animal Welfare Network (FAWN), and hopefully,Friends of Iowa Midwives on April 2nd. If that changes I will certainly let you all know.
